Are Lashes Actually Expensive? The Cost-Per-Wear Math

AED 119 for one pair of lashes can sound like a lot at first. But the price on the box isn't really what you're paying. What matters is what they cost you every time you put them on.

The math: under AED 8 a look

Every pair of Leena Lashes is handmade 3D mink and can be worn up to 15 times with proper care. So:

AED 119 ÷ 15 wears = AED 7.93 per wear

That's under AED 8 every time you wear them, whether it's a soft everyday lift with Whisper or full glam with Midnight.

Why "up to 15" depends on you

Fifteen wears is what a pair gives you when it's looked after. Three habits make the difference:

• Take them off gently. Gently grab the lash from the root at the outer corner and pull inwards. Pulling lashes off from the ends of the hairs or the middle can damage the pair.
• Clean the band. Lift away the old glue after every wear so it doesn't build up and stiffen the lash.
• Store them in their tray. The tray holds the curl. A makeup bag crushes it.

Skip these and a pair might only give you five or six wears, which more than doubles what each look costs.

Budget strip lashes

A cheap pair of synthetic strips looks like the better deal on the shelf, but most only last a wear or two before the curl drops and the corners start lifting. If you pay AED 35 for a pair that lasts two wears, you've spent AED 17.50 per look, more than double a pair of Leena Lashes.

In Dubai, a classic full set of extensions costs around AED 350, and refills are around AED 200 every two to three weeks to keep them looking full. Over three months, that adds up to roughly AED 1,150.
